Kripalu Yoga Classes
Beginners' Level 1
Level 1 is suited to those who are new to yoga or those who want to review. The principles of yoga are taught in the form of a series of postures. Each class follows the same basic format: centering, breathing techniques, warm-ups, posture practice and a guided relaxation.
Gentle Class
This is similar to Level 1 beginner but is a special invitation for seniors to experience the benefits of yoga. This entry level class takes a gentle approach utilizing lots of stretching, breathing techniques and exploring a variety of easy postures. It is open to people of any age who want a less physically demanding class.
Beginners' Level 2
This series is designed for those who have completed level 1 and are somewhat familiar with the basic postures. Or for those who are quite fit and want a more challenging introduction to yoga. Students begin to "play the edge" working to develop their strength and flexibiltity while maintaining the essence of yoga - mindfulness.
Intermediate
This is a challenging class for students who have completed Level 1 & 2 and are very familiar with the basic postures. A variety of posture flows will be taught and practiced.
Childrens' Class
This is an invitation for young people aged 8-12 to discover the joy of stretching and learn animal yoga postures. Through the use of music, balls and other props, children will be encouraged to playfully move their bodies.
